She started her business, Locs By Shellz, during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, turning a solo loctician hustle into a thriving brand. At the start of 2024, she was preparing to open her salon when she was diagnosed with stage 4 inflammatory breast cancer—but she never let it stop her. That same year, she launched Locs By Us in Quincy, MA, where she now leads a team of skilled locticians.

Despite being in active treatment, Shellz continues her mission of spreading breast cancer awareness through public speaking, music, and entrepreneurship. With 20+ years of experience, she has perfected her craft, developed her own line of hair products, and built a brand rooted in excellence and care.

Now she’s sharing her knowledge—educating locticians, mentoring stylists, and empowering others to build their own success.
